You'll feel as though you've stepped back into the "old west". Ride skilled horses and move cattle with the Cottonwood cowboys and cowgirls. The herds are monitored daily and moved as needed to maintain the health of the range.  Spend all the time you want in the saddle as you drive cattle over the high desert or mountains of the Cottonwood grazing lands.

Each day is a new adventure as you experience life on a working cattle and horse ranch.  You can also take time for arena games, hay and buggy rides, fishing, barbecues and campouts.  Enjoy evenings around the campfire or star-gazing, or lounging in the rocking chairs on our expansive deck, or dancing to good old country western tunes, or reading in a quiet nook, or soothing tired muscles in the hot tub, or chatting with the Cottonwood crew & family, or heading off to bed early for a good night's rest, or playing pool, or playing cards, or watching television, or whatever you desire...the choices at Cottonwood are expansive as our seamlessly never-ending sky.  ☺

There's something to the mystery that surrounds riding the range, herding horses and cattle astride a good horse. It may be the expansive vistas, the mountain peaks, the high rock canyons.  It could be the pure, fresh air and ever-changing skies.  Perhaps it's the friendly, easy-going camaraderie between you and your horse, you and the cows and calves, you and the other cowhands, or you and the mountains, creeks and forests that you're riding through.  It might be the congenial sharing of delicious food, the swapping of stories at the end of the day or the feeling that you get when you look up at a sky ablaze with stars.  Possibly it's the sensation of power and awe that comes over you when you are surrounded by the varied manifestations of nature without a street light, traffic jam, skyscraper, subdivision, billboard or freeway within sight or hearing.  Maybe it's simply the silence and fresh air.

Cottonwood ranch affords many opportunities to experience the life of a real western cowboy.  Join us in the spring when the high desert is green, covered in wildflowers and the snow still glows on the mountain peaks...it's like riding through a garden!  Throughout the spring and summer, join our crew tending all that we need to do near the ranch or 20 to 40 miles out...the majesty of the land, animals and country will blow your mind and the riding, too!  Come September, what the day brings can never be deemed "work" either, since you are immersed in the most stunning fall colors imaginable.  No matter what, wildlife, fresh air and wide-open skies always surround us.  It's truly unimaginable and unforgettable...check that one off the bucket list!!!
